Our Story, Your Connection

LifePortal began as a heartfelt idea from Dominic and Brandy Piantedosi, a Michigan couple who saw firsthand how isolation can affect the morale of residents in elder care facilities. Determined to make a meaningful difference, they combined their personal compassion with user-friendly technology to create a unique service focused entirely on human connection.

Today, LifePortal continues to uphold that original promise: delivering memorable moments through virtual visits and compassionate onsite support.

LifePortal began with our grandmother, Beverly.

We were able to visit her in person regularly but it was clear that something was missing.  Grandma was loved and supported by many people—family, neighbors, and longtime friends who would stop by just to chat or bring her something sweet. But once she moved into a care facility, that web of connection disappeared.

Despite our visits, she felt isolated. She told us she had lost her reason to go on.

We knew we had to do something.

So we began reaching out to those she missed most—some she hadn’t seen in years—and arranged FaceTime calls. One by one, they began to appear on the screen: her nieces, her great-grandchildren, even the neighbor who used to bring her soup.

The change in her was immediate. Her eyes lit up. She smiled. Her voice had energy again. Her hope had returned.

That simple act—helping Grandma reconnect with the people who made her feel loved—was the seed that became LifePortal.

We realized that if technology could do that for her, it could do it for thousands of others. So we built a service that combines easy-to-use video call tools with on-site support to make virtual visits accessible and effortless for seniors and their families.

What began as a deeply personal effort is now a growing mission...and we carry our sweet Grandma Beverly’s story with us every time we help a new family reconnect...because no one should ever feel forgotten.
